We've all been joking about 2020 being an awful and stressful year, but there is a lot of truth behind those statements as well. Everyone has had some high stress in 2020 for one reason or another. This leads to many experts recommending mental health days.

Cnet describes a mental health day as a day off that is specifically and strategically geared toward stress relief. Many work places offer PTO (Paid Time Off) Or sick days. most work places will also allow you to use one of those as a mental health day.

Different work places are looking into mental health days due to how unpredictable and high strung this year has been. Professionals have been on board with the idea too, therapist Amy Cirbus stated,

By taking mental health days, you're placing equal value between your mental and emotional well-being and your physical well-being.  It's an acquired skill to be able to determine when you need a mental health day, but well worth the effort."

If you're feeling stressed, tired, or over worked it may be time to take a break. "Breaks" in American cultural in the past have sometimes been seen as weak, but now that so many Americans are on the same page when it comes to the stresses of 2020, breaks, and mental health breaks have become more wildly understood and accepted.
