Michigan Has Banned Flavored Vaping Products, Should The QC Do The Same?
Vaping has become a controversial topic lately, as several deaths have been attributed to e-cigarette usage.
Now, states are trying to do something about the issue.
KCCI Des Moines reports that Michigan is ending the sale of flavored e-cigarettes.
The ban gives stores and online sellers 30 days to comply.
Governor Gretchen Witmer said that one of the main reasons for the ban is the concern that children might be enticed to try the products, especially those that have flavors that are fruity or sugary.
The American Heart Association supports the vaping ban, adding that there's still so little research on the long-term effects of e-cigarette usage.
Michigan is the first state to create a ban on the products, leaving the door open for others to follow suit. Since vaping-related illnesses have popped up in Iowa and a death in Illinois, it could simply be a matter of time before vaping sales in the QC become obsolete.
