Moline Teacher Honored For Helping First Graders Set Goals
It's the Fall 2023 semester and we are heading out to schools with our awesome program with Nothing Bundt Cakes and Scooter's Coffee to honor and reward our awesome Quad Cities teachers and educators. It's called QC Teacher of the Week and we are so excited to announce this week's teacher of the week!
It's now time to announce this week's B100, Nothing Bundt Cakes, and Scooter's Coffee's QC Teacher of the Week!
Congrats to Elvira Toledo-Martinez , a 1st-grade teacher at Lincoln-Irving Elementary School in Moline!
Mrs. Toledo-Martinez was nominated by one of her student's parents, Carrie Mail. Carrie said in her nomination:
I am nominating my son’s teacher Mrs. Elvira Toledo-Martinez at Lincoln-Irving Elementary School in Moline. She teaches dual language (English and Spanish) first grade. She is the best teacher, because she truly cares about her students and how to help them reach their full potential. She encourages everyone to bring a healthy snack, which helps the children focus in their day. She rewards the kids with treats for meeting smaller daily goals and with gift cards and certificates when they meet bigger yearly goals, which adds to their motivation and excitement when they work towards and meet big goals. In addition to teaching, she also helps run the school’s Running Club! She is very involved, informative, and organizes things well for both the students and their families. She offers options for families to be actively involved and help further grow her students, like her Red Folder Reading Program, helping students learn and feel more confident in their reading in both languages. Her hard-work and dedication in the classroom and with after-school programs is much appreciated. She makes learning engaging and fun, and we’ve seen our child’s love for education grow, in particular learning a second language (Spanish), thanks to her.
Great job, Mrs. Toledo-Martinez!
For being our QC Teacher of the Week, Mrs. Toledo-Martinez has been rewarded with a B100 Prize Pack including stickers, koozies, and more, plus an awesome cake from Nothing Bundt Cakes and a cup and gift card from Scooter's Coffee!
Thank you for your hard work and dedication, Mrs. Toledo-Martinez!
