Second Person Arrested After Molotov Cocktail Thrown Onto Futsal Court In Bettendorf, Iowa
After an incident earlier this month, another arrest has been made in an arson case.
A second person has been arrested in connection to a new futsal field in Bettendorf being burned this summer.
19-year-old Michael Taylor was arrested on Friday, July 24th after the incident at 1:00 a.m. on July 11th. He's facing a Class C felony charge of third-degree arson.
The incident happened just days after construction on the new futsal court was complete, which had a $202,094 price tag attached to it.

According to court records, Taylor and co-defendant Trenton Runge went to Kiwanis Park planning to use a Molotov cocktail to damage the new futsal field. Initially, they tried to break the cocktail on the field but it didn't work. Then, they lit it on fire in the grass next to the field, resulting in it burning and also leaving broken glass on the playing field. Police said the grass burned for 10 minutes as they ran away.
Taylor admitted he was at the park and video from the scene confirmed he was. He is facing a charge of Possession of Explosive material or destructive devices with intent.
Taylor bonded out of the Scott County Jail. His preliminary hearing is set for August 4th.
