You miss 100% of the shots you don't take, right?
Well, not really. That could be illegal.
This is kind of one of those invasive thoughts moments that actually happened. According to NBC Chicago, some folks in the Oak Park suburb had an unexpected payday when bags of cash fell out of a Brinks Home Security Company truck last week. The loss totaled up to about $300,000.
The complaint that was filed to police said that it happened when the truck driver was going southbound on Austin Boulevard on Tuesday. It was in the 300-block around 5:00 p.m. when the "backdoor opened by unknown means".
Brinks says that when they got back to the area after the doors had opened, between 50-100 people were seen taking money and running.
The security company says that about $300,000 was lost in the 3 bags of U.S. currency that fell out of the truck and as of Friday, though dozens were seen taking the cash, no one is in custody for it yet. People were seen fleeing both on foot and in cars.
Oak Park has been called one of the nice Chicago suburbs. It's noted for it's safety, family-oriented community, etc. It has a high property crime rate but it's one of the fancy, pricey places to live around Chicago. So it's nice.
