According to WQAD, the Moline City Council has approved a plan which allows Heart of America Group look into the development of the John Deere Collectors Center.

The lot that has sat vacant for three years could potentially be developed into a minimum of 100 apartments and enough parking spaces to accommodate up to 350 vehicles.

Ray Forsythe from Planning and Development for Moline told WQAD the plans could not come at a better time for downtown Moline.

"We don't have any vacancies downtown so we're always looking to kind of expand our housing opportunities."
