More Than 11 Inches Of Snow Reported In Eastern Iowa
Eastern Iowa and northwestern Illinois saw a doozy of a winter storm Thursday. The storm left snow in a line from southwest Wisconsin to n`orthwest Missouri dumping almost a foot of snow in some areas including a city in eastern Iowa.
Thursday, February 16th Snowstorm
On Thursday, February 16, 2023, a winter storm brought moderate to heavy snow to eastern Iowa and northwestern Illinois, including the Quad Cities area.
Snow began in eastern Iowa early Thursday morning and lasted through the day into the evening as the storm moved towards the northeast. As the storm progressed, it left several inches of snow blanketing cities and towns in its path.
The National Weather Service of the Quad Cities says that saw 6 inches of snow by 9 a.m. on Thursday. Iowa City, North Liberty, and Coralville saw the bulk of the snowfall totals.
Iowa City Gets More Than 11 Inches Of Snow
Accoridng to National Weather Service of the Quad Cities, the city that got the most snow in our area was Iowa City.
Iowa City at University Heights reported 11.5 inches of snow on the ground. North Liberty reported 8.5 inches, Lowden reported 9.5 inches, and Williamstown reported 10.5 inches of snow.
In the Quad Cities metro, Davenport reported 4.2 inches, Moline reported 2.3 inches, and 4.9 inches was reported in Bettendorf.

- Maquoketa - 7.5 inches
- Clinton - 3.5 inches
- Dubuque - 6.6 inches
- Eldridge - 4.5 inches
