Morel Mushroom – Real or Fake?

Denise Hnytka from WQAD had opened our eyes to the world of Morel Mushrooms. Everything from the exciting hunt to their preparation, I feel like I'm somewhat of a pro after our time talking.

But there is one thing that's perplexing Denise, Jay and myself. Is the morel mushroom below real or fake?

This picture was posted on the Missouri Morel Hunting Facebook page and we're a liiiiiittle skeptical about its origins because this morning Denise brought it a batch and they're about 2-3 inches, on average.

However, I'm also skeptical about whether or not people are spending their free time making imposter morel mushrooms.
