The old Ruby Tuesday is being torn down as you read this. What does Natural Grocers have to offer?

I believe I see the Quad Cities trying to catch up with the rest of the west coast when it comes to food choice in organics and natural health. Had I never been to LA or the Northwest (I recently vacationed in Oregon), I would have never known how much organic eating, health and well being are lifestyles for entire cities. I am proud that the Quad Cities is starting to trend more in that direction. There are already many great businesses I frequent that fall into this category.

In June, I wrote about a potential Trader Joe's or Whole Foods coming to town once it was announced another business in the 'organic grocer' market was looking at the Ruby Tuesday property on Elmore Ave. in Davenport. I wrote:

I still feel the exact same way today.

I just learned on KWQC.com that Natural Grocers is the store who will be the new business. Natural Grocers won't only offer organic food but also body care and supplements at affordable prices. I'm a healthy skeptic when it comes to prices, where the food comes from and ingredients. It will be fun to walk through the store and see what they have once it's built. They expect to open within a year.

Construction is currently set to begin this fall.
