North Scott Foods Will Become Eldridge’s First Hy-Vee Store
A staple in Eldridge since 1979 will soon become a part of the Iowa, Illinois, and Midwest grocery store chain, Hy-Vee. The announcement was made by Hy-Vee and employees at North Scott Foods are now in the know.
Our news partner at KWQC broke the news that North Scott Foods (425 East LeClaire Road, Eldridge) will be acquired by Hy-Vee. North Scott Foods has been in operation for more than 40 years and soon, it will bare the name Hy-Vee on the front of the building.
Hy-Vee Assistant Vice President of Communications Dawn E Buzynski told KWQC in their report,
“We are in the process of acquiring North Scott Foods. We have notified employees today, but at this time we do not have a timeline or further details.”
Whatever the timeline may be, residents of Eldridge and in the north Scott County area will see the change coming to the community.
North Scott Foods has been in operation since 1979. This is what North Scott Foods says in its about section on the website:
"We are your local community connection for high quality foods, friendly service and great prices.
Our family-owned store offers a convenient one-stop shop where you can find everything you need from the everyday essentials to specialty items from around the world."
The staff at North Scott Foods will continue to help customers find what they're looking for and to offer assistance with the products they carry.
While some may be sad about the announcement, the good news is that Hy-Vee will take care of and treat the customers the same way as North Scott Foods has for decades.
