We will soon have another option for seeing exotic fish, sharks, and other aquatic life. St. Louis' $187 million aquarium is right on schedule and we are getting a sneak peek as to what is to come.

In an effort to bring more tourists to the city, St. Louis is turning the one-time downtown hotspot of Union Station (which has been pretty empty as of late) and turning it into a 120,000 square foot aquarium. According to KSDK, the attraction will feature 13,000 aquatic animals--including more than 60 sharks and rays--in a 250,000 gallon tank. That's a lot of fish!

Plus, they're adding a carousel, a 200-foot Ferris wheel, three new restaurants, a mini golf course, and a conservation and education center. The official opening date has not been set, but it will be sometime in fall of this year.

I can't wait for this to open. I love going to Chicago's Shedd Aquarium, so it will be great to have another option.
