Let's admit it right now, most of us have faked being sick and called into work. It's very tempting to do when you just "aren't feeling it," you're sad, hungover, or there's a Keeping Up With The Kardashian's marathon on E! Sure, calling in "sick" probably isn't the most moral thing in the world, but that's why you can burn one or two sick days here and there. We know you won't admit that you've called in "sick" to work, but others have and a new survey has given us details on how many people fake sick to get out of work by each state.

A new survey was released by Zippia on Monday shows that a lot of Americans fake being sick to get out of work. They surveyed 2,000 Americans to find out why they call into work to get out of working. While this survey found that most Americans call into work because they are actually ill, 52% of Americans admit to fake being sick to get out of work.

The second most used reason for taking a day off is for a mental health day. We all could use those once in awhile.

The survey also found that most people call into work "sick" on Monday's. That's kind of not a surprise, especially if that Sunday morning hangover hasn't worn off yet. Zippia also found that 1 in 3 Americans use a sick day following a holiday. I don't know if this is a for sure thing, but I assume a lot of people take the day after Thanksgiving off if their company already doesn't give it off.

Zippia also broke their survey down to look at how many people call off "sick" by state. Iowa and Illinois vary pretty significantly. According to Zippia's survey, 47% of Iowans fake being sick and call into work. Iowa ranks 34th compared to the other 49 states.

Illinois' ranking is a little higher. Zippia found that 55% of Illinoisans call into work "sick," and Illinois falls in the 16th spot on the list.

Connecticut fell into the number one spot and Zippia found that 70% of Connecticut workers have called into work claiming they were "sick." Wisconsin workers call in the least and only 21% of workers fake being sick to get out of work.
