CDC Confirms Pizza Dough Laced With THC At Wisconsin Eatery
It's probably not the main ingredient when you think of pizza dough.
This may take the devil's lettuce munchies to the next level. Delish says that a restaurant in Wisconsin added an ingredient to their pizza dough that would give you a high instead of heartburn.
Back in October, over 80 people got sick (and stoned) after eating THC-laced pizza at Famous Yeti's Pizza in Stoughton, Wisconsin. 7 people were in the hospital. The dough contained Delta9 (also known as Delta-9 THC).
The contamination happened October 22nd-24th. It was discovered that the oil in the pizza crust had the Delta9 in it.
The new report from the CDC says that the accident happened due to shared storage with a licensed THC vendor.
No charges were filed in the accident, as it was ruled unintentional. The restaurant shared that storage space with multiple other businesses. As for those who ate the THC crust, symptoms folks had included dizziness, fatigue, and anxiety.
But people were here for the mixup. The crust had support. Several people have asked Famous Yeti's to "bring back" the Delta9-laced pizza crust. One person said "I think you've found your next 'highly' wanted pizza!"
Famous Yeti's was praised for their transparency at the time and the way they handled it. Most people are still standing behind Famous Yeti's for their statement.
Since the incident in October, though the THC pizza crust has been requested, it's not currently on Famous Yeti's menu. And at this point, I really doubt that it will be.
