Portillo’s Isn’t Good News for Everyone in the QC

Good news to some, isn't good news for all, especially when it's in your back yard, literally.The news of getting a Portillios in the  Quad Cities was music to the ears of so many. It would still be a good thing for those living on 53rd in Davenport, where Portillos will go, except, some residents will have to give up their homes and/or relocate.

According to QCTimes.com,

"To make way for the multi-use development, which would have room for three other businesses in addition to Portillo’s, he said nine residences would have to be torn down."

It also seems the plans include having 5 lanes for traffic, to help accommodate for the extra businesses on 53rd and the crowding that area will experience, espeically since Costco will be there, too.

It's not just traffic that's a concern. Residents of Lorton Ave/Fairhaven Rd area, are worried about flooding and whether or not the actual street will be able to hold up with the additional traffic.
