President Obama Delares 19 Counties in Iowa ‘Disastrous’

This declaration will help counties get the help they need.

Storms rolled in and out of the Midwest, definitely leaving their mark on the landscape. Some places flooded, others had damage from unconfirmed tornadoes and high winds.

September and October were nerve-wracking for flooding in Iowa. Families were greatly effected and it's been sad to watch how other counties in our state are trying to recover. Just imagine if the Mississippi did the same damage to us here in the Quad Cities, as those in Des Moines.

According to KWWL.com, this declaration "makes federal money available to state and local government agencies and some nonprofit organizations in Allamakee, Benton, Black Hawk, Bremer, Buchanan, Butler, Cerro Gordo, Chickasaw, Clayton, Delaware, Des Moines, Fayette, Floyd, Franklin, Howard, Linn, Mitchell, Winneshiek, and Wright."

There may be more counties added to the list as the damage is still being looked at by FEMA.
