‘PSL’ Means Something Different in the Quad Cities
Fall is almost here and PSL doesn't mean to everyone what it means to us in the QC.
There's nothing like being from the Quad Cities. No, I don't plan on starting a 'You Know You are From the Quad Cities When...' list, either.
However, now that fall is around the corner and the great 'pumpkin' flavored-everything has begun, we all know, even if it is a heat index of 102 degrees today, that it's here.
People around the world see 'PSL' and think: 'Pumpkin Spice Latte.' I see 'PSL' and think 'Paula Sands Live.' It goes together, like Forrest Gump says,'Peas and Carrots.' I manged to get extra excited when I saw the online ad for Starbucks and wondered what on earth Paula Sands Live show was doing with them, either for a sponsorship or segment. I think I'm on to something here...(*hint hint, Paula!)
I just know Mother Nature isn't totally drunk. I keep reminding myself that fall really is on the way despite today's heat index. I can't believe I am about to say this, but, I think I am finally getting a little tired of the humidity and heat. I am ready for cooler temps and beautiful autumn colors. The golds, bronzes and reds are among my favorite colors of the season.
I love sweaters, scarves and boots. Hot drinks, bonfires, apple crisp. And yes, even the pumpkin stuff I fall for (Did ya see what I did there?!) I think I am about to go into haiku about fall. Ha ha. I can't help myself. Who's with me? Are you ready for fall, too?
