It's been an upsetting holiday week for one Davenport woman and her family.

WQAD reports that police were recently called to a residence on 13th Street in Davenport, where they found Elizabeth Damon beating her elderly mother.

Damon then proceeded to take off on foot, leading police on a chase. After finding Damon, she resisted arrested by jumping into a nearby car and attempting to hit a squad car with the vehicle. Damon escaped police during the scuffle but was eventually found and arrested.

Damon has been charged with assaulting an officer, 2nd-degree criminal mischief, domestic assault, and several traffic violations.
