Three Quad City men are going to do something pretty cool.

Their plan...simple, bike from start to finish of the Mississippi River in three weeks to raise money for Quad Cities charities.

According to KWQC, the three men, Jim Millman, Tom Rowe, and Tom Thoms, are footing the bill for this trip themselves and have each pledged $21,000 to "Break The Cycle" and meet the needs of 21 families in the Quad Cities. The group will also profile 21 families each day of their trip.

Their goal is to raise a matching $21,000 through donations and gifts. During their 1,600 mile journey, the cyclists will be working with the Community Foundation of the Great River Bend to collect donations and disburse funds to three non-profit organizations: Alternatives for the Older Adult, Bethany for Children & Families, and Child Abuse Council - to assist the families identified.
