I was at the Quad City River Bandits Opening Night game last night (which the Bandits won)and I have to say...the future of Major League Baseball looks good.

According to WQAD.com, this season, there are a few improvements and additions to Modern Woodman Park. First, there is netting around the general admission seats and bleacher section protecting fans. There has also been expansion to the store and box office. There is also a new popcorn stand and BBQ stand. Also, expect more firework displays and pyro.

For more on schedules, events and promotions go to the Quad City River Bandits website.

The Midwest League was established in 1954  It is a Class A league that plays a full season; its players are typically players in their second or third year of professional play. The Quad Cities joined the league in 1960 as the Quad City Braves.
