Rock Island Golf Courses Opening This Weekend
If you're looking to pick up a new hobby or continue to try to perfect your short game, two Rock Island golf courses are opening up for the 2023 season.
Highland Springs and Saukie Golf courses will open for the 2023 season on Sunday, April 2 at 9:00 am first come first serve. The Highland Springs Driving Range will also open with artificial mats. Beginning April 2, tee times can be made for future days, up to seven days in advance by calling Highland Springs at (309) 732-7265 or Saukie at (309) 732-2277.
Saukie Golf Course
Saukie Golf Course is a beautiful, executive-length course that is beginner friendly but can challenge every golfer with its tough par threes, rolling deep ravines and doglegs, and majestic oak trees. It is conveniently located in the heart of Rock Island at the intersection of 31st Avenue and 38th Street. 2023 season specials include: $26 for 18 rounds with a cart every day after 1:00 pm and Wednesdays are 2 for $40 after 1:00 pm. Kids 6-14 are free with a paid adult after 1:00 pm.
Highland Springs is a championship layout recognized as one of the best designs in the Quad Cities. This course includes enough length to challenge all types of players and includes numerous lakes and ponds, rolling hills with deep ravines, and thousands of mature trees. Highland Springs is located in southwest Rock Island at 9500 35th Street West. 2023 season specials include:
- Mondays 2 for $50 after 1:00 pm
- Mondays and Wednesdays 18 holes with a cart for $31
- Fridays 2 for 1 Driving Range buckets after 3:00 pm.
Highland Springs Golf Course and First Tee of the Quad Cities invite everyone to an open house to celebrate the new Clubhouse and First Tee Classroom on Thursday, April 20 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Celebrations will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony, speeches, champagne toast, snacks, and a cash bar.
