It seems like almost every week we are reading about some sort of scam in the Quad Cities.

According to the QCTimes, the Scott County Sherriff is warning residents of a potential phone scam where the scammer will call and say they are a sheriff's department employee demanding money for payments or the resident will be arrested.

The scammers are using the names of sheriff's department employees found on-line.

The Scott County Sherriff not only does not make these calls, but also collects no money. Learn more about the scam and what to do if you feel you have been contacted here.
