With Lent, the Christian preparation for Easter, beginning tomorrow, I was reminded of this story from my youth.

Most of us can remember hunting for brightly colored hard-boiled eggs at Easter as kids, but why? A Huffington Post article notes that, the tradition of decorating and hunting for eggs in the Spring is older than Christianity. The egg is a symbol of rebirth and fertility in many cultures around the world, so it is no surprise that it has become part of a celebration of resurrection for Christians.

Easter, like many other holidays, is about spending time with family, but you can also get bogged down in activities that cater to children. Sometimes, you want squeeze in EXTRA celebrations away from the kiddos (and maybe include some adult beverages).
