Taylor Swift Leads With Six AMA Nominations

The good news keeps on coming for Taylor Swift. On the heels of her record-breaking 1989 album, T-Swift has been nominated for six American Music Awards, including Song Of The Year & Artist Of The Year.

Ed Sheeran and The Weeknd earned five nominations apiece, with Sam Smith, Meghan Trainor, and Nicki Minaj notching four each.

Taylor has 16 career American Music Awards to her name and is a sweep away from from eclipsing Whitney Houston as the AMAs' most decorated artist. That's if she win all six of her categories, which include favorite album for 2014's multi-platinum smash 1989 and song of the year for "Blank Space." [Billboard]

American Music Award nominees are based on key fan interactions as reflected in Billboard Magazine and on Billboard.com, including album and digital singles sales, radio airplay, streaming, social activity and touring.
