On Sunday and Monday over 300 people were treated at area hospitals and clinics for weather related injuries. Many for slipping and falling on the ice. That doesn't have to be the case. There's a way to do it and Genesis Health told the Quad City Times the right way to fall:

  1. Pull your arms in close to your chest, don't use them to break your fall, that's when you break and arm.
  2. Bend your knees. It'll position your body closer to the ground. That's an easier fall.
  3. Try and keep your face and head away from the ground when you're going down.

These things might not keep you from getting hurt, but they might help you minimize any injuries! Salt that melts the ice is also your friend. Because the best ice is no ice.
