I'm a Millennial and I live in the Quad Cities. Not going to lie, I do love it! No, I'm not blowing smoke up your butt, my wife and I do love living here in the QC. A new study has come out showing that the Quad Cities area is one of the best places for millennials.
It's hard to think that the town you live in is good. You get lost in all of the bad stuff that happens. While it's easier to look at the negative side of things, it's refreshing to look at the positive side of life. A new study from our friends WalletHub shows that the Quad Cities area is one of the best places for millennials.
WalletHub's study really looks at the best and worst states for millennials. Because Iowa and Illinois are so high on this list, it's safe to assume that the Quad Cities is a dream spot for millennials.
To find out the most livable places for millennials, WalletHub compared all 50 states and Washington D.C. across five key dimensions:
- Affordability
- Education & Health
- Quality of Life
- Economic Health
- Civic Engagement
For the purpose of their study, Wallethub defined millennials as those who were born between 1981 and 1996.
After diving deep into math, metrics, and all of the smart people stuff that WalletHub does, this is where each state landed on their list.
Iowa and Illinois landed pretty high on WalletHub's list. Iowa was higher than Illinois, but both states are two of the best states for millennials.
WalletHub found that Iowa ranked #5 on this list. Iowa had a total score of 62.47. Here is where Iowa ranked in each category:

Iowa was also 1st in housing cost for millennials and millennial homeownership rate.
