I know what you're thinking. It's gotta be the Hotel Blackhawk, right? Guess again. While The Hotel Blackhawk is certainly a pricey stay, it's not the most expensive in the Quad Cities area. For that, we must instead turn to Airbnb rather than any of the local hotels' websites.

For those of you who don't yet know what Airbnb is, let me explain. Airbnb is one of many websites that allow people to rent out their private homes or other properties to people looking for a place to stay for a night or two. Some rent out just a room, while others rent entire houses. It's an interesting way to make some extra cash, and it's been getting a lot of pop culture recognition lately. The Kate Winslet movie The Holiday is based on the concept, and many news sources have done pieces on the $10,000 a night Airbnb home that Beyoncé stayed in after her performance at Super Bowl 50.

Now, the Quad Cities has nothing nearly that astronomical. But, if you're looking to rent a home in the area that still has quite a bit of charm, look no further than Buffalo (yes, Buffalo). This house belongs to a guy named Thomas, and he's asking $500 a night. That's at least $100 a night more expensive than the nicest suites at Hotel Blackhawk. When you first see the house, that price may seem a little steep, but the house has a lot of great perks, especially in the summer time.

This three bedroom house is on the Mississippi river front. It's located right next to Buffalo Beach and has its own boat dock. That paired with the privacy of a house and the freedom to cook and grill out as you please sounds like a boater's dream. After all, the only screaming children that could run up and down the halls at 11 pm are your own. So if this sounds like a good option for your summer stay-cation, check it out!
