This Illinois City Is The 2nd Loneliest In The U.S.
Not everywhere is going to be a thriving metropolis.
You can feel lonely whether you live in a metro area or in a rural space. Illinois apparently has a lot of lonely towns. In fact, the state tied Ohio for the most appearances on the list in a recent study by 24/7 Wall Street.
The study looked at several factors to come up with the list of lonely metro areas, including:
- Amount of one-person households
- Percent of adults living alone out of adult civilian population
- One-person household (ages 65+)
- Monthly gross rent
- Bachelor's degree attainment rate
- Median household income
