Really, it's the Super Bowl of gameday snacks.

Sure football is fun to watch. But when we watch the Super Bowl on February 9th, most of our attentions will be on the beer and snacks. The commercials and halftime shows are always entertaining. But snacks. The snacks.

Just think: sliders, chicken wings, nachos, potato skins, and dip after dip after cream-cheese-laden dip.

A study from Coffeeness looked at every state's favorite Super Bowl snack based on the ones that most people from the state were searching in the months surrounding the game.

Some of the results included:

  • Baked potatoes
  • Fried green tomatoes
  • Funeral potatoes
  • Poke bowls
  • Deviled eggs
  • Hot dogs
  • Sonoran hot dogs
  • Garlic knots
  • Baked ziti
  • Sopapillas
  • Knoephla Soup
  • Shakshuka
  • Crawfish etouffee

So some of them are a little less traditional and more involved than putting deli meat on a roll and calling it a slider.

But Iowa & Illinois' favorite Super Bowl snack is a timeless classic: Buffalo Chicken Dip.

For Super Bowl desserts, meanwhile, we prefer Peanut Butter Blossom cookies (the peanut butter cookies with a Hershey's Kiss in the middle).

The Super Bowl is America's second-largest food consumption day (obviously Thanksgiving is number one), according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture. After all, we should eat a lot so we don't drink on an empty stomach, right?

Buffalo chicken dip was found to be most of America's favorite Super Bowl dish by far. Baked potatoes came in second place.

The Kansas City Chiefs will take on the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl on February 9th, 5:30 p.m. CST.

U.S. Government's Level 4 Do Not Travel List

Many people travel at the end of the year for the holidays or to use up vacation days that may expire. These countries have a Level 4: Do Not Travel advisory issued on them by the U.S. Government and should be avoided.
