Tornado Damage Reported in QCA

UPDATE: WQAD is now reporting that thousands of area residents are without power. Target and Hyvee in Moline have severe damage, including cart corals that have collapsed.

Storms ripped through the Quad Cities area this evening, leaving a trail of damage in their wake. The National Weather Service Quad Cities confirmed a tornado spotting at the intersection of I80 and I88 around 7:30 this evening. According to WQAD's Eric Sorenson, damage is being reported in Rock Island County, Bettendorf and LeClaire. WQAD is also reporting damage at the Golfmohr Golf Course between East Moline and Rapids City.

Although the storms have passed, damage such as fallen trees and other debris could still be hazardous to drivers. Take caution if you are planning on driving east this evening.
