After eight weeks of training, my partner and I won Dancing with the QC Stars.

I've not been shy about my absolute love for dancing.Ever.  In 2015, I was invited to be a celebrity dancer in this competition, benefiting the Quad Cities non-profit organization who helps so many live high quality lives despite having an autoimmune disease, Livefit with Lupus In 2016, I got to co-emcee Dancing with the QC Stars and was asked to dance again. My heart is so full of joy at being able to dance and perform.

This year, I was asked to dance again for B100 and Elite Health Systems.

My partner, Conor, has also danced in past shows but this was the first time we got to dance together. It was an honor and priviliege to  be his dance partner. Conor's encouragement through the years has been an added push for me to continue pursuing my love of dancing.

A big thanks is owed to Arthur Murray's dance studio in Davenport for the choreography of our winning dance. I didn't know what dance style 'Peabody' was until this dance. It's a super fun, 'Gatsby'-style 20's-30's dance  that's meant to be silly and little over-the-top. That pretty much sums up my personality. Danyelle was a great teacher and learned my style right away, even with the music. (Post Modern Jukebox's cover of Jason DeRulo's 'Wiggle')

All in all, it was a great experience being able to co-emcee with WQAD's Angie Sharp and then being surprised at the end of the night with the Judge's Choice award, based on technique, execution of the dance style and how much fun contestants had with the dance. Here's our performance. You can judge for yourself:
