2025 does not seem to be the year for air travel.

Something seems to be in the air (literally) this year with so many airborne accidents. First, there was the tragedy in D.C. with the Black Hawk helicopter and American Airlines flight. Then, there was the medical plane that crashed in Philly. Then there was the Delta plane that flipped on it's back in Toronto. 10 people were killed when a flight in Alaska crashed on ice. And now, here we are with a moment not too far away.

Tuesday morning, a landing Southwest Airlines plane nearly hit a Flexjet (a private plane) as it crossed Runway 31C at Chicago's Midway Airport.

A statement from the FAA obtained by NBC Chicago says that the jet "entered the runway without authorization".

It seems there was a difference in communication frequencies. The air traffic control cleared Southwest Airlines flight 2504 to land on Runway 31C. The taxiing jet, meanwhile, was talking to ground control on a different frequency.

The jet was supposed to cross Runway 31L but stopped before Runway 31C to let the Southwest flight land.

The Southwest pilot pulled up so it wouldn't hit the jet, circled back around to land, and could later be heard asking "how'd that happen?"

Something about 2025 really does not make me want to fly.

U.S. Government's Level 4 Do Not Travel List

Many people travel at the end of the year for the holidays or to use up vacation days that may expire. These countries have a Level 4: Do Not Travel advisory issued on them by the U.S. Government and should be avoided.

Many immigrants who want to become citizens of the U.S. have a lot of knowledge they need to know before being granted citizenship. As a naturally born citizen of the U.S., you probably think you know it all, but do you?

During the naturalization interview, a civics test is given. The civics test is an oral test and the USCIS Officer will ask the applicant up to 10 of the many civics questions below. An applicant must answer 6 out of 10 questions correctly to pass the civics portion of the naturalization test. Think you can get at least 60% correct? Let's find out.
