Watch ‘The Sandlot’ On The Riverfront in Davenport This Weekend
This weekend is the perfect opportunity for you to show a classic favorite to your kids, in an experience they won't forget, maybe forever.
As part of their "Movies on The Mississippi" series, the City of Davenport will be busting out the big screen for a special showing of 1993's The Sandlot.
Full of iconic lines, this film was an instant classic coming-of-age story about a group of kids who got together to play a pickup game of baseball on the sandlot in their neighborhood.
The new kid in town, Scotty Smalls, just wants to fit in. When the last ball is lost over the back fence to a ball-eating dog only referred to as "The Beast", he grabs the ball from his stepdad's shelf, but it's not just any ball - it's signed.
The film will show on Friday, June 10th at LeClaire Park in downtown Davenport. Games and activities start at 6pm, and food vendors will be offering snack and dinner options for purchase.
Around dusk, the film will kick on.
