Western Illinois Elementary Teacher Is “The American Dream”, Honored For Love Of Teaching
The Spring 2025 semester is underway. So of course, we went out with our awesome program with Famous Dave's to honor and reward a great Quad Cities teacher.
It's now time to announce this week's B100 & Famous Dave's QC Teacher of the Week!
Congrats to Hector Garzon, a 4th-grade teacher at Hillcrest Elementary in East Moline!
Mr. Garzon was nominated by his coworker Cristina. She said in her nomination:
There are so many educators that go unnoticed but I would like to nominate Hector Garzon from Hillcrest Elementary in East Moline IL. He is a 4th grade bilingual teacher and originally is from Columbia! His standards are held high for his students and his expectations. He communicates with his families and is respected by his students and peers. You know what students belong to Mr. Garzon's class when you see them walking silently and respectfully to and from classes. You will see him interacting with students in the classroom or at recess. Mr. Garzon loves teaching so much that he decided to leave his country and come to the United States on a special Visa to teach. Before his visa expires I hope he can be a winner for this nomination! He is one of the most humble and caring people I have met while working at Hillcrest school. He is a great example of what the American dream is and it shows through his hard work and dedication. Thank you!
Great job, Mr. Garzon!
For being our QC Teacher of the Week, Mr. Garzon has been rewarded with a B100 Prize Pack including stickers, a shirt, and more, plus a gift card from Famous Dave's!
Thank you for your hard work and dedication, Mr. Garzon!
