If you need an excuse to get some Whitey's Ice Cream next week, you're in luck.

Whitey's will host the 37th Annual Cones For Kids event on Monday, June 12th. Half of all cone sales will go to benefit Bethany for Children and Families, which is a child welfare, mental health, community education, and social services provider for children and families in western Illinois and eastern Iowa, according to a release from Whitey's.

All Whitey's locations are going to participate in Cones For Kids on Monday. It's important to note-shakes and malts aren't included in the charity donation. Get a cone if you want to help Bethany.

Jeff Tunberg, co-owner of Whitey’s Ice Cream, said in a press release:

Bethany is a fantastic cause and the support shown by the Quad City community has been amazing over the years. We are proud to continue the tradition.

During the week, Whitey's locations are open 10:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m. so you'll have time to stop by before or after work or maybe on your lunch break. Surprise the littles with a cone. You can get more details about the work that Bethany for Children & Families does in the Quad Cities on their Facebook page.

Helping out Bethany isn't the only project Whitey's has going on in June. Whitey's Ice Cream will also have their 90th birthday celebration later on this month that will feature some sales and some specials. You can watch their Facebook page for updates about that.
