Wisconsin, More People Could Be Moving To Your Neighborhood
Wisconsin residents may see more people moving there soon. A new study shows it is one of the best states to live in and we know that Wisconsin residents won't dispute that claim at all.
They may not see more people from neighboring states moving to the Badger State because many other Midwest states are at the top of this list, too.
Wisconsin Is One Of The Best States To Live In
A recent study revealed that out of all 50 states, Wisconsin is the 9th best state to live in. WalletHub conducted its annual study and found that the Badger State is one of the best of the best.
To find out which states were the best and worst to live in, WalletHub compared the 50 states across five key dimensions including affordability, economy, education and health, quality of life, and safety.
After doing the math, they found Wisconsin is the 9th best state to live in.
Why Is Wisconsin Such A Great Place To Live?
There are so many reasons to want to live in Wisconsin. Looking at the study's findings, Wisconsin ranks pretty high in many of those key categories.
Wisconsin ranked 8th in education and health, 14th in quality of life, and 12th in safety.
But what are the real reasons anyone would move to Wisconsin?
Wisconsin Has Major Cities With A Lot Of People
Contrary to popular belief, Wisconsin has a lot more to offer than rural towns and dairy farms. The capital of the state, Madison, has a population of 269,196. And at night when there isn't snow on the ground, it looks like this:
The other big city in Wisconsin is Milwaukee. With a population of 569,330 (double that of Madison), Milwaukee's other perk is that it's less than 2 hours away from Chicago.
Plus, Milwaukee has a lot going on what seems like every day throughout the year.
Professional Sports Teams Call Wisconsin Home
When you think of Wisconsin, what professional sports team do you think of first? Well, there are three major sports teams ready for you to cheer them on.
For the NFL, Wisconsin is home to the Green Bay Packers.
Milwaukee has two professional sports teams alone. The MLB team in Wisconsin is the Milwaukee Brewers.
And in the NBA, the Milwaukee Bucks call Wisconsin home, too.
As an Iowa fan, it hurts me to explain to you why it's called the Badger State. But from a college and college sports standpoint, the team you would likely cheer on would be the Wisconsin Badgers.
Go Hawks!
Iowa & Illinois Residents Aren't Moving To Wisconsin
Residents in Wisconsin's neighboring states won't move not because of sports, but because Iowa and Illinois landed in the top 20 best states to live in themselves.
WalletHub found that Iowa is the 11th best state to live in and Illinois is the 13th best state to live in. Doesn't make sense to leave Iowa since it ranks first in lowest housing costs.
