Woman Injured by Drive-by Paintball Attack in the East Village
WQAD reports several people were attacked by a group of men shooting paintballs out of a moving vehicle on Friday night.
Comedian Tony Cavallo was standing outside of Brew in the Village with friends when he was struck in the back. His friends were also hit.
Another victim was a woman named Shelby Reichard, who was walking near Middle and Jersey Ridge roads when she was hit. She fell to the ground after being struck in her right eye. The injury was so severe that Reichard had to be transported from Genesis East to Iowa City to receive further treatment.
Shelby posted a photo of her bloody, swollen face on social media following the attack.
Doctors are still unsure if Shelby's eye will heal fully. As of right now, she is not able to see out of it.
