Burlington Police are investigating a shooting that occured Wednesday night that has left one man injured and a woman dead.

According to Burlington Police, a woman is dead and a man is injured after a shooting on Wednesday night. In the press release, officials with the Burling Police department say on Wednesday, November 11th 2020 at approximately 11:00 pm, the Burlington Police Department responded to the 2200-block of South 10th Street regarding a report of shots fired.

When officers arrived, they located two individuals inside a residence with gunshot wounds. One of the individuals was a 24-year-old female who was pronounced deceased at the scene. The other individual was a 26-year-old male who was transported to Great River Medical Center in West Burlington for medical treatment.

At this time, the names of the individuals involved are being withheld pending family notification.

No other information has been released as of Thursday morning, but the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation is assisting the Burlington Police Department with the ongoing investigation.
