The City of Moline passed a law that is leaving some residents fuming.

When you think of hunting, you think of rural locations. Farm land in southwest Rock Island County and rural Scott County comes to mind. The last place anyone thinks about allowing hunting is in residential areas.

According to WQAD.com,

"The DNR found the safest place for a hunt would be on Hunt Harris's property off of 46th Street in Moline.

"Some people may envision hunters roaming the woods, this is a very controlled situation by the DNR," said Harris.

The city council agreed with the DNR's recommendations."

Deer overpopulation has become an issue now in Moline and off-duty police officers have been given permission to thin the heard at one residential area.

I didn't realize it was such a problem, personally, but recall driving down 7th Street towards downtown one morning and saw a herd of deer who didn't seem to mind that I was driving in their direction. They also didn't mind that I stopped and took their picture.  I think the car behind me cared more. haha.
