Iowa Has A Great Shot At Winning the Lottery Jackpot

In 2024, three Iowans became millionaires playing the Iowa Lottery. The last jackpot winner in Iowa was in 2023 when Earl Lape of Dubuque claimed his $40.03 million Lotto America jackpot prize.

This biggest jackpot winner in Iowa history came in 2018 when Lerynne West
of Redfield won the $343.9 million jackpot from the Powerball.

That's right, Iowans win big when playing the lottery and they have the best chance to win a lottery jackpot, according to VegasInsider. They analyzed all state lotteries using their official websites and odd chances to show which residents can start to dream big.

The results showed that the games specific to New Hampshire, Kentucky, Iowa, and New Mexico have the most likely odds of winning the big prize of 1:10,000. While it doesn't sound like the best odds, check out all of these big Iowa Lottery winners.

Iowa was deemed as the state with the 3rd-highest chance of winning a lottery jackpot. Iowa is 3rd because you have a 1-in-100 chance of just winning something, while Kentucky has a 1-in-31 chance, and New Hampshire had the best overall chance of winning any sort of prize, with a 1-in-10 chance of winning something.
