Zayn Malik and Niall Horan Had an Awkward Split-Second Reunion at the 2016 AMAs
Times are tough and tense in the One Direction fandom, with all the boys going their separate ways and all. And even though the idea of a 1D reunion seems like nothing but a far-off dream at the moment, there are still occasional glimmers of hope — including this latest happening: a Ziall reunion at the 2016 American Music Awards last night (Nov. 20) at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
And if you were only watching the broadcast, chances are, you probably missed it.
The split-second exchange between Zayn Malik, who won New Artist Of The Year (and threw a 1D dig in his acceptance speech in the process), and Niall Horan, who performed his debut solo single "This Town," was caught on Snapchat in the crowd by a fan. As Niall walked past Zayn in the crowd, he stopped, shot over for a quick handshake, and promptly kept it moving. And that was it.
It wasn't exactly the most friendly or familiar exchange for two people who shared the same stage for five years — but it's something, right? Watch the blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment go down up top.
