Zayn Malik Officially Goes Solo

We now know more of the details surrounding Zayn's exit from One Direction earlier this year. Zayn claimed back in March he was leaving 1D "to be a normal 22-year-old." Well, apparently he only wanted to be out of the spotlight for about four months.

Zayn announced on Twitter Wednesday that he'd signed a solo deal with RCA:

#RealMusic? OUCH.

Malik also tweeted “#realme” along with his “#realmusic” hashtag, indicating that his participation in One Direction was a different version of himself. Well, I guess we’ll see who the “real” Zayn is very shortly. [MTV]

Only a matter of time before we get a tweet from Harry, too...right?
