Energy Teas & Protein Waffles At New Nutrition Shop In Davenport
A new place to get healthy food has opened it's doors in downtown Davenport.
On Wednesday, 4th Street Nutrition had it's grand opening. It is a Black-owned business that serves healthier drink options, like meal replacement shakes, energy teas, and protein waffles. Their products are made with natural ingredients and no added sugars.
Zachary Smith, co-owner of 4th Street Nutrition, spoke to KWQC about what brought the business to the downtown Davenport area. He said:
A lot of college students, a lot of activity down here. So, I feel like, you know, me working downtown, I see a lot of people walking around. So, I think it’d be a good, you know, exercise, springs coming up, it’d be a good opportunity for people to come around, walk around and get their tea’s, get their protein drinks in them.
4th Street Nutrition is at 207 W. 4th Street, which is across the street from the library. The Mega Teas come in multiple flavors (mostly fruity and sweet ones) that are super bright and colorful. The meal replacement shakes are available in multiple flavors too, that have 210 calories and 24 grams of plant protein. There are add-ins like probiotics and fiber that you can put in a drink too.
It's a timely opening for the Black-owned business, as Wednesday began Black History Month as well. 4th Street Nutrition is open Monday-Friday 7:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. and on Saturdays 8:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.
You can keep up with the latest from 4th Street Nutrition and see their menu of shakes and Mega Teas on their Facebook page.
