Now that school is out in the Quad Cities, it's time to start thinking about keeping your kids occupied this summer. If you're looking for entertainment that won't break the bank (or rot their brains), check out one of these fun, free QCA activities.

1. Blackhawk State Historic Site, Rock Island

Give your kids a taste of the great outdoors by taking a hike or having a picnic along Blackhawk's four miles of trails.The Hauberg Museum has lots of info about the Native Americans that once lived in our area, making it an educational opportunity as well.

2. Iowa 80 Trucking Museum, Walcott

Take the family to see vintage trucks on display, watch short films about trucking history, and learn about the important role trucking plays in our everyday lives at this unique museum.

3. Movies At Main (Davenport Library), Davenport 

Enjoy a free movie and popcorn at Davenport Public Library's Main Street branch every Tuesday in June and July.

4. Figge Art Museum, Davenport

Expose your older kids to fine art and culture by taking advantage of free admission to the Figge this summer through September 3.

5. Backwater Gamblers, Rock Island

Check out the Backwater Gamblers Water Ski Club perform a show on the Rock River every Wednesday and Sunday at 6:30 PM at 44th Street off of Blackhawk Road. Shows go through Labor Day.
