Abused Iowa Cat Back Safe with Owner [VIDEO]
Thank the lord. That was my first thought this morning when I learned that Gladys, a cat that had been taken and apparently tortured in Benton County, was back with its owner. The look on owner Spencer Kimm's face says it all in this video courtesy of CBS 2.
In her post on Facebook, CBS 2's Eva Andersen says that Spencer and his friend Dillon have a message for those who were so impassioned when they learned of the cat being stolen and tortured. He told Eva they don't know where the man is that Benton County authorities are seeking as a person of interest in the case. The man, identified yesterday as Chad Alan Toney, is still being sought. Andersen's post states
"(Spencer and Dillon) wish him (Chad Toney) no harm. They hope the threats and ill-will toward him stops, and instead, he gets adequate mental health resources."
A social media post early this week included photos and videos of the alleged abuse, as well as what appeared to be threats from Chad Toney. We chose not to post it in our original story due to its very sensitive nature. It has now been taken down by the cat's owner.
If you have any information on this ongoing investigation or can help the Benton County Sheriff's Office locate Chad Alan Toney, you're asked to call (319) 472-2337.
