Barley & Rye Bistro in Moline Has Closed Suddenly
WQAD reports Moline farm-to-table restaurant Barley & Rye Bistro has closed following a death in the owner's family.
The restaurant made a Facebook post on Sunday, announcing the restaurant's immediate closure.
Owner/head chef Jared Linn's father, Randy Linn, passed away Friday, February 7 in Coal Valley at the age of 60. Randy was also Jared's business partner.
As many of you know, our family experienced a great loss of Chef Jared’s father and business partner, Randy.
After many discussions as a family, we have decided to not continue business without Randy. Effective immediately.
We would like to thank all our customers for their support. It has been our pleasure to bring the farm to table experience to Moline for the last 6 years.
Thank you for respecting our privacy at this time, as we continue to grieve the loss of Randy.
Thank you
Barley & Rye Bistro and the Linn family.
Barley & Rye opened six years ago and has remained a popular fixture in downtown Moline ever since.
