Beloved Burger Chain With Wisconsin Locations Closing 70 Eateries

Looks like it's time to add another name to the list of chain restaurants and stores disappearing soon.

It seems like we have often had to tell you about good chains closing lately and this one involves an American staple: the fast-food burger. Specifically, the bottomless steak fries and the one with "yummm" in the jingle. Yep, that one.

According to USA Today, Red Robin is considering shuttering 70 locations across the country.

Red Robin has announced they're looking at closing underperforming stores as part of an effort to repay debt. For some restaurants, that would mean closing whenever their leases expire.

As of now, Red Robin hasn't announced the stores they're planning to close. They're not that hard to find in America's Dairyland, with 11 total Wisconsin locations:

Appleton: N. 109 Stoneybrook Rd.
Brookfield: 95 N Moorland Rd
Eau Claire: 3005 Golf Rd
Green Bay: 2605 Oneida St
Greenfield: 7575 Edgerton Ave
Janesville: 2430 Humes Rd
Kenosha: 6610 Greenbay Rd
Madison: 2440 East Springs Dr
Monona: 6522 Monona Dr
Oshkosh: 600 S Koeller St
Wausau: 225548 Rib Mountain Drive

Red Robin hasn't announced yet if they will close any of the Wisconsin stores, but if any of them are underperforming, they might. 2024 didn't go all too well for Red Robin as a whole, losing $54.5 million in total revenue when compared to 2023, according to their statistics.

Meanwhile, the Red Robin locations that will stay open are planning to bring in new menu items and "craveable food", new salad options, and promotions to hopefully get customers back in to their restaurants this year.

Red Robin started as a tavern in Seattle in the 1940's before it grew to the national burger chain we all know now. It's been a chain since about the 80's.
