There's another possible casualty in the collection of chain stores and restaurants closing.

It seems like so far in 2025, we've had a lot of national chain stores and restaurants to tell you about that are shuttering locations. Now, there's another one on the list.

Who among us doesn't love a good fast-food burger from time to time? You may need to find another spot to get one.

USA Today reports that Red Robin is looking at shuttering 70 locations across the country.

Besides burgers, the first thing I think of when I think of Red Robin is the signature outro in their commercials. The Red Robin yummm:

But now, Red Robin is considering closing underperforming stores in an effort to repay debt. For some locations, that would include closing them when their leases expire.

As of now, Red Robin hasn't announced the stores they're planning on closing. The burger chain has 5 locations in Iowa:

  • Davenport: 3903 East 53rd St.
  • Cedar Rapids: 4625 First Ave.
  • Dubuque: 2775 Northwest Arterial
  • West Des Moines: 6255 Mills Civic Parkway
  • Sioux City: 4900 Sergeant Road

The chain also hasn't announced a timeline on these closures, should they close any of the Iowa locations at all. We do know 2024 didn't go all too well for the chain as a whole, losing $54.5 million in total revenue when compared to 2023.

Meanwhile, the remaining Red Robin locations that do not close are planning to add new menu items and "craveable food", new salad options, and promotions to hopefully get customers back in this year.
