UPDATE (5:32 p.m. 8/18/16): Officials have released new information regarding the description of the suspect and the getaway vehicle involved in this morning's robbery of the downtown Bettendorf Ascentra Credit Union branch.

According to the City of Bettendorf, the suspect entered the building and handed a note to an employee demanding money. No weapon was displayed at the time of the robbery.

The suspect was then seen heading west on Grant St. in his light-colored, four-door Chevy Impala.

The suspect is described as a black male with medium to light complexion, thin and approximately six-feet tall, with a trimmed beard and mustache. He was wearing a brimmed hat, blue jeans, a black pullover hooded sweatshirt and black Nike shoes.

No customers were in the building at the time of the robbery and no injuries were reported.

The FBI is assisted local authorities in the investigation.

Police are investigating a robbery at a Bettendorf credit union late Thursday morning.

The Ascentra Credit Union at 1170 Grant St. was robbed Thursday, August 18 at about 11 a.m.
