Summer is here and it's starting to show in Davenport.

It's finally warming up and we're headed into the season of live music, longer nights, and of course...farmers' market mornings. It's a Saturday summer staple.

Freight House Farmers' Market in Davenport is gearing up to reopen their outdoor market on May 4th for the Summer 2024 season.

The market will be available from 8:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. (the indoor vendors will be open until 2:00 p.m.) According to the Facebook event, there will be over 150 vendors set up at the farmers' market! Sunday, the market will be open from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.

Outdoor vendors make it feel so much more full, don't they? As we know, a lot of the outdoor vendors are farm-fresh produce vendors selling veggies, fruits, and plants. Though I did find some of the best banana bread I've ever had from an outdoor vendor at the farmers' market. Vendors include bakeries, nurseries, meat and seafood vendors, and specialty food producers. There's also often artists with their crafts available for purchase.

Live music is another one of the farmers' market's offerings and they have a schedule of live bands set for opening weekend. On Saturday:

  • 10:00am-11:30am- Randy Leasman
  • 11:30am-1:00pm- Ryan Bizarri

On Sunday:

  • 11:00am-1:00pm- Jeni Grouws

In the past, the outdoor market is open May through August but the indoor market is open year-round. They have events throughout the season, including an Earth Day event on May 18th. You can keep up with the schedule and get times at Freight House Farmers' Market Facebook page.
