Downtown Davenport dwellers and workers have a new place to stop for a sandwich or to pick up a few groceries.

Blue Spruce General Store has opened up it's doors at 217 E. 2nd Street, which is the former downtown location of Cookies & Dreams.

Blue Spruce has a selection of a few grocery items as well as a deli and a bakery.

Blue Spruce will have a few grocery items as well as meats & cheeses by the pound, light breakfast and coffee, a small lunch menu (including sandwiches on their sourdough bread), and pastries and bread from the Blue Spruce Bakery. Blue Spruce hopes to meet the grocery needs of people living and working in downtown Davenport.

Hours

Blue Spruce General Store is open Monday-Friday from 6:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m., and on Saturdays & Sundays 7:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m.

Keep an eye on their Facebook page daily to see what sandwich offerings are in the deli and what breads and breakfasts are available in the bakery.

As you can see by the below picture, there is some space for dine-in options at Blue Spruce General Store as well.

Blue Spruce Bakery's Facebook post from earlier this year announcing the general store's opening gave this reason for bringing it in, saying in part:

The main goal is to meet the grocery needs of the employees and growing number of people living downtown.
